ITAL 1010 - Elementary Italian
This class focused on the beginnings of the Italian language from greetings to the present tense verb conjugations, to translations like different colors and family. It laid the foundation for the rest of the Italian classes I was going to take.
ITAL 1020 - Elementary Italian
The core focus of this class was conjugations. As a class, we focused on forming sentences and making sure that the way we formulate and structure the sentences are sound. This class also minorly focused on more word translations like directions and foods.
ITAL 2010 - Intermediate Italian
This class focused mainly on reading and writing. We read a lot of passages in Italian and wrote a good bit of short answers and essays in Italian. We worked to better our comprehension in these two sectors on language learning.
The example for this class is a final project I completed about Giorgio Morandi, an Italian artist of the 20th century.
ITAL 2020 - Intermediate Italian
The core focus in this class was listening; however, we largely worked on all aspects of the language. We did a lot of talking, reading, writing, and listening was an aspect freshly added. Comprehension was the primary aim in this class and how we can better our skills in public.
IT 403(ITAL 4050)- Italian Language in Context
This was a class that I took while I was in Italy that was spoken solely in Italian. Besides the main focus of learning grammar and conjugations, it was a class that discussed different topics in Italian culture and the country as a whole. The primary focus in this class was comprehension.
FS 325(WCIN 4540) - Gender in Italian Cinema
This was an Italian cinema class that I took while I was studying in Milan, Italy. It was a class fully spoken in Italian where we would watch different Italian movies throughout the 20th century to today.
The example I would like to use is for this class and it is a short essay with my commentary on the movie 8 1/2 by Federico Fellini.
ITAL 3o70- Italian Civilization and Culture
I had taken two directed readings. These were one-on-one classes between me and the professor in which we would read Italian short stories together or independently. I would write commentary on them and every class we would have a conversation about the story that week.
ITAL 3160- Italian for International Business
I had taken two directed readings. These were one-on-one classes between me and the professor in which we would read Italian short stories together or independently. I would write commentary on them and every class we would have a conversation about the story that week.
This example for this class is an exam that I completed. Each student needed to find 5-6 Italian companies that are in the United States and fill out information about each company.
